Tour of Duty Live

May 4, 2012 - May 6, 2012

Military wives face unique challenges in all stages of deployment. As husbands travel to new places and face new terrains, military wives must navigate their own tour of duty. But they don’t have to do it alone.

Join Sara Horn, founder of Wives of Faith and author of the popular LifeWay Bible study, Tour of Duty: Preparing Our Hearts for Deployment for a weekend that will give you hope, encouragement and time to slow down and focus on God’s grace and love. You are not alone.

So bring your worries, your fears, your struggles and your exhaustion. Find rest in the hope we have in God’s Word and find laughter and joy as you meet and share with other women who understand where you’re coming from. And discover the hope to keep going!

And since we want to make it as easy as possible for you to come when you need encouragement most, go ahead and make plans to bring your children and let them experience their own weekend of fun and support through the special ministry program simultaneously being offered.

Tour of Duty Live! is a weekend you will not forget - whether you’re in the middle of a deployment or preparing for one in the future.

Sara Horn - Sara is the founder and president of Wives of Faith, a military wives ministry that began in 2006 in Nashville and has expanded throughout the country. Sara loves sharing with military wives tips on how to apply biblical truths to the military lifestyle. She passionately encourages them to keep their focus on God no matter their circumstances. She is married to Cliff, a Navy reservist for almost 15 years, and they reside in the Baton Rouge, LA area with their son. Sara is the author of several books, including Tour of Duty, GOD Strong: A Military Wife’s Spiritual Survival Guide, and My So-Called Life as a Proverbs 31 Wife.

Krissy Nordhoff (Worship Leader) - Krissy Nordhoff is a busy singer/songwriter, worship leader, wife and mom. She is perhaps best known for her song “Your Great Name”, currently a Top 5 radio single by Natalie Grant. Krissy is a successful indie artist and has released three other albums including: “Krissy Nordhoff”, “Thank Him” and “Downpour” - featuring the Top 10 single “Outrageous Love”.  Krissy leads worship at her home church in Franklin, TN where she lives with her husband, Eric, and their three children.

John & Kay Boone (Children’s Program) - John and Kay Boone reside in Wilmington, North Carolina. They have been married for over 30 years and have two children and three grandchildren. They have a deep love and obvious compassion for children. They served in children’s ministries for several years teaching Sunday School and Children’s Church. However, they also had a strong desire to bring Jesus to the children living in their city’s drug and crime-ridden neighborhoods. In July of 1993, that desire soon became reality as Save Our Kids Outreach began. They started in their inner-city communities by reaching out to the children through puppetry and sharing God’s Word with fun and creative programs. Since then, they have witnessed thousands of young people and their families receive Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. In November 2009, they had the privilege to minister to Fort Hood military children and their families following the November 2009 shooting on base. Their goal for this weekend is to share fun, laughter and the hope we have in Jesus with your children.
